Raising Spirits is a campaign launched by the Americas subsidiary of the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) to support the hard-hit US hospitality sector during the COVID-19 crisis. With support from the industry, WSET’s Raising Spirits aims to offer a minimum of 5000+ active members of the bar, restaurant and hospitality industries the opportunity to take an online WSET Level 1 Award in Spirits course.

Four-week course.

The Raising Spirits initiative will give hospitality employees the opportunity to increase their industry knowledge and skills while they are not able to work and will provide a much-needed boost to the sector’s morale.

A WSET educator will guide you through the four-week, five-module online learning program. In total, the course material should take six hours to complete (excluding revision time), then at the end of the course, you will be required to sit an online exam. Successful students will receive a WSET certificate and lapel pin, both of which are internationally recognized across the industry.

The courses will be open to any employee from the hospitality sector who meets the legal age requirement per state and is not currently able to work because of the COVID-19 lockdown. Places will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. WSET aims to launch the first courses in mid-June 2020 by partnering with the country’s industry leaders to help fund the campaign

WSET pledges to cover the cost of the course delivery and invites partners to support the campaign by signing up as a WSET Corporate Patron.

WSET would be delighted to welcome you as a corporate patron in one of the tiers below but we would be happy to discuss involvement at any level.
